I have lived in Balcombe for 20 years with my wife Rachel and both our sons attended Balcombe school
I am a member of St Mary’s church congregation and am currently serving on the PCC.
On the governing body I am the church’s ex-officio appointee
I retired in June 2020 after 40 years in exploration geophysics, so now have more time and am keen to give back to the village.
During my career I worked for many years on image enhancement using specialist geophysical software and involving project management. I also spent seven years in the training department presenting advanced geophysics to masters graduates. My final five years were spent project managing 24/365 marine operations on seismic acquisition projects around the globe.
Outside of work I have always been heavily involved in the sport of rowing. After my competitive days were over I took up coaching and since moving to Sussex volunteered as the men’s coach at Ardingly Rowing club for 16 years, running 4 sessions per week out on the beautiful reservoir. I still help out by running a session most weeks.
I am hoping that some of my project management, training and sports coaching experience can be of value on the governing body to assist the school staff and children.
